Descrizione completa
The speaker begins by citing narrations from the family of Muhammad stating that God sent 124,000 prophets to every nation, many of whom were unrecognized by their people. Referencing a tradition where the Prophet Muhammad identifies Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates as prophets, the talk introduces Tiresias, a prominent figure in Greek myths known for living as both a man and a woman. The video recounts the myth of Tiresias striking mating snakes, which caused him to change sex for seven years before reverting. This unique experience led Zeus and Hera to ask him to settle a dispute about sexual pleasure. Tiresias ruled that women receive nine-tenths of pleasure while men receive only one, a judgment that enraged Hera and resulted in his blindness but also the gift of prophecy from Zeus. A striking parallel is drawn between Tiresias's judgment and narrations from Imam Ali and Imam as-Sadiq, who stated that sexual desire or enjoyment was created in ten parts, with nine placed in women and one in men. The speaker proposes that this correspondence suggests Tiresias was indeed a prophet inspired by the same divine source, rather than the Islamic traditions borrowing from Greek myth. Finally, the talk explains how ancient prophets like Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Ya'uq, and Nasr were eventually deified after their deaths due to grief and the whispers of Iblis. The speaker concludes that Tiresias shares this fate: a true prophet of the Greek civilization whose life story became embellished with legend over time, yet whose core message was a call to righteousness.
